Shouts Outs!

Erik Hunt

A big thank you to Erik Hunt and Owen Cyclery for assembling the new Breezer Bikes we got for our On My Own 2 Feet & Wheels this year. We were so fortunate to be able to purchase these high quality bicycles and couldn’t have done it without the grant dollars we received from the Ironman Foundation. Thank you Breezer and Owen Cyclery for giving OMO2F&W the opportunity to buy these bikes and have them assembled within our budget. Thank you Ironman Foundation for the funds. Can’t wait for the program to begin for the year in April when members of the homeless community will get the chance to own one of these great bikes.

With grant writing, flipping burgers, recycling and cleaning up race trash during the course of Ironman Chattanooga 140.6 and the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in 2017, On My Own 2 Feet and Wheels was awarded a total of $5,500 in grant money to go towards our programs. Thank you, Ironman Foundation!

If you’re ever in St. Elmo and feel an overwhelming urge for Coastal Cuisine, please head to 1885 Grill. Miguel Morales gave us the perfect meal to end our journey for our five graduates Katrina, Kenneth, Douglas, Jack and Terry. The food was excellent and service superb. A big shout out to Miguel and his staff for taking such good care of us.

So, we’ve had so many people step up to do good things for us, we’ve had to create them their own menu tab! That’s such a great problem to have. Our program would not be where it is today or become even greater, without these special people and businesses. Last week, to start us off with the new addition of our “Wheels” part of our program, Alan Outlaw and Fast Break Athletics donated brand new shirts, with our new logo, to volunteers and participants. Thank you, Alan!
